Agnes's Story

Agnes Cripple, 89, formerly of Flatwoods, passed away Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Mrs. Cripple was born June 23, 1927, in Ashland, to the late Robert and Addie Whitt-Scaggs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Cripple; a sister, Maude Evelyn Borders; five brothers, Elmer, Donald, William, Charles and Ran Scaggs.
Agnes was a member of Raceland First Baptist Church. She loved to sew, cook and bake. She enjoyed collecting earrings, but most of all she loved being with her family and friends.
Left behind to carry on her legacy is her daughters, Nancy (Steve) Jackson and Sharon Slusher; a son, Tom (Donise) Cripple; a granddaughter, Valerie (Brent) Ratliff; two great-grandsons, Tanner and Tate Ratliff.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at Dixon Cemetery in Westwood with Brother Talmadge Porter officiating.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
