Anna Jane Wargo Riffe, 81, of Rush, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Riffe was born Nov. 30, 1935, in Filbert, W.Va., to the late Joseph and Elizabeth Balco Wargo.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. "Bob" Riffe; three brothers, Joe Wargo, George Wargo and John Wargo; and five sisters, Elizabeth Cassett, Helen Giles, Sue Terry, Infant Mary Wargo and Mary Wargo.
She was a graduate of Gary High School in Gary, W.Va. and St. Mary's School of Nursing in Huntington, W.VA. Anna retired in 2001 as an RN for the State of Kentucky's Commission for Handicapped Children. She was of the Catholic Faith and enjoyed reading, crocheting, shopping and watching the Hallmark Channel's Christmas Shows. She was a member of Eastern Star.
Anna is survived by her children, Lisa (Gary) Johnson of Rush, Kim (Jerry) New of Lawrenceburg and David (Sandra) Riffe of Appling, Ga.; eight grandchildren, Tyler (Brooke) Johnson, Austin New, Kelsey New (Taylor) Webb, Brittany Riffe, Hunter New, Taylor Johnson, Ashley Riffe and Alexis Riffe; a great-grandchild, Trey Webb; two brothers, Michael Wargo of Ocean Springs, Miss. and Frank (Anita) Wargo of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; and two sisters, Margaret Wasilewski of War, W.Va. and Julia Blevins of Boonville, N.C.; and Dana Young, who was like a daughter.
Funeral services will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Neal Funeral Home in Catlettsburg with Pastors Richie Gindlesperger and Dwayne Young officiating. A committal service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2017, at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
