Annise's Story

Annise May Buckner Moore Spears, 82, of Catlettsburg, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017, in Ohio Valley Health Care in Parkersburg, W.Va., with her loving family at her side.
Mrs. Spears was born Sept. 21, 1934, in Charleston, W.Va. to the late Robert and Hazel Gertrue Schoolcraft Buckner. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Donald L. Moore in 1983 and William "Pete" Spears in 2012.
Annise was a 1953 graduate of Elkview High School, had been employed by C&P Telephone, Anderson Newcomb and was the owner along with her husband Donald of Don's VW Repair.
She was a member of Southside Church of the Nazarene for more than 50 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Teresa and her husband, Rodney Abbott, of Belleview, W.Va., and Susan and her husband, Glen Castle, of Greenup; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Leoma Shafer of Pinch, W.Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Spears will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Southside Church of the Nazarene at 36th Street in Catlettsburg. Pastor Jim Webster will officiate. Committal services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Catlettsburg Cemetery.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
