Arbutis "Bea" Gibson Scudder, 93, of Ashland, passed away Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, in Kings Daughters and Sons Home for Senior Living.
She was born Jan. 18, 1924, in Mammoth, W.Va., the daughter of the late James H. and Esther Tucker Gibson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Scudder; two daughters, Dreama Scudder and Eleanor Priddy; and six siblings.
Bea was a homemaker, attended Bible Baptist Church, enjoyed visiting with family and friends and reading her bible. She enjoyed cooking from scratch for everyone with many favorites being pork chops and her sweet creamy rice.
She married the love of her life, Roy E. Scudder, her "sweetie" May 23, 1946, and they enjoyed 65 years of life together before his passing six years ago July 16, 2011.
Bea is survived by three daughters, Linda (Gene) Bowman of Mansfield, Ohio, Barbara Brogan of Manning, S.C., and Jewell (Clarence Jr.) of South Point, Ohio; two sisters, Asline Guilliams and Deloris Vestal; one brother, Kenneth Gibson; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, at Miller Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Miles officiating. Entombment will be in Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the funeral Home.
