Arminta Lou Gyer Rice, 70, of Ashland, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, in Oakmont Manor Heath Care Canter.
She was born March 11, 1947, in Boyd County, a daughter of the late Albert and Cora Bullion Gyer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by eight sisters; and four brothers.
She was a retired cook for the Blue Grass Grill and Western Hills Motor Lodge. Arminta was a member of Hoods Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, James A. Rice; a son, Jamie Rice and companion Becca Adams of Catlettsburg; a daughter, Mary Lou Blevins and companion Bobby Blevins of Ironville; two grandsons, Robert Tyler Blevins and Silas Braxton Rice; a great-granddaughter, Savana Beth Ryan-Blevins; a brother, Herman Gyer of Ashland; two sisters, Goldie Centers of Ashland and Margaret Kelly of Wurtland; and a host of nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at Lazear Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland by pastor Joseph Hutchinson. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East.
Visitation will be will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at the funeral Home.
