Barbara Crotty, 81, of Russell, passed away Nov. 4, 2018 in Morning Pointe.
Mrs. Crotty was born Jan. 31, 1937, in Ashland, to the late Wilcox and Hazel Nipp Ward.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Opal Ward.
Barbara was a member of the First Baptist Church of Russell. She was a retired nurse for Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital and a volunteer for the American Red Cross, Greenup Chapter.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Larry G. Crotty; brother, Robert L. Ward; and a church family who will carry on her legacy.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Fri., Nov. 9, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Russell, located at 901 Ashland Dr, Russell, Ky. 41169, with Pastor Ken Gowin officiating. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m., Fri. at the Church.
Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods is caring for arrangements.

Larry, I Always will remember Barb for her profession in nursing. She was a very skilled nurse & a wonderful Christian. I learned a lot from her. God will comfort you through this time. Love you lots !!

Barb truly was an angel here on earth, so kind and gentle. She encouraged me to play my dulcimer and gave me a lifelong gift of music and joy. Thanks to both of you , my life is richer for your friendship
