Barbara R. Foit Arthur, 88, of Ashland, KY, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017, in Woodland Oaks Care Center in Ashland.
Barbara was born April 15, 1929, in Ironton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Edward and Clara Reidel Foit.
She was a retired classified ad clerk with the Ironton Tribune, a member of Holy Family Church and a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Ironton in 1947.
Barbara was preceeded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, David A. Arthur; and a daughter, Carol Jean Arthur.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Dennis and Karen Arthur of Lexington, KY, Rose Marie Thomas of Ashland, Janet and Tom Matthews of Lexington, Mary Alice and Lewis Gardner of Lexington, and Andrea and Mike Pickard of Lexington; 10 grandchildren, Lori, Katlyn, Jordan, Claire, Edward, Jack, Abigail, Victoria Zee, John and Hawk; and five great-grandchildren, Caroline, Carter, Norah, Benjamin and Andrew.
A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St Joseph Church in Ironton by Rev. David Huffman, with burial in Calvary Cemetery in Ironton.
Friends may call at the church one hour before services on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ironton Catholic schools in Ironton.
Lazear Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland has been entrusted with arrangements.
