Barbara Wells Mowery Barbara Wells Mowery, 83 of Wurtland, Ky., went to be with the Lord March 10, 2019 at her home.
Barbara was born August 4, 1935, a daughter of the late Bertram and Sara Lee Mullikin Wells.
She is also preceded in death by her husband Jim "Zenor" Mowery; six brothers; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Mowery was a graduate of the Good Samaritan School of Nursing. She worked as an RN for the Veterans Affairs Hospital for over 40 years before retiring.
She is survived by her daughter Edie (Butch) Horn of Versailles, Ky.; two sons, Michael (Brenda) McWhorter of Catlettsburg, Ky., Stuart McWhorter of Wurtland, Ky.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six sisters; and one brother.
Funeral services will begin at 12:30 p.m. Thursday March 14 at the Evans Funeral Home in Raceland, Ky. Burial to follow at the Kentucky Veteran's Cemetery Northeast.
Visitation services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Thursday March 14 at the funeral home.

So very sorry to hear of Barbara’s passing. A long time ago she was my sister in law. We shared many happy and sad events in life. She will be missed very much by all especially her family.
