Betty Gay Miller Burke, 67, of Ashland went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, May 18, 2017, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Betty was born Oct. 23, 1949, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Andy Lee and Mary Elizabeth Baker Miller.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years in 2016, Jack Alton Burke; and a sister, Joyce Arrington.
Betty was a member of South Ashland United Methodist Church for more than 30 years. She worked as a computer programmer with Verizon for more than 20 years. Betty enjoyed arts and crafts especially crocheting, cooking. She loved spending time with her precious grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her three daughters, Kamilah (Damola) Asafa of Ashalnd, Kaila (Joe) Charland of Ashland and Jill (Mike) Babiarz of Sarasota, Fla; a son, Jeff (Katie) Burke of Annandale, Va.; eight grandchildren, Alex Babiarz, Matthew Babiarz, Nevaeh Asafa, Jaydah Asafa, Amorrah Asafa, Brycen Charland, McKencen Charland and Piercen Charland; a brother in-law, Mike (Sharon) Burke of Rush; a nephew, Chuck Arrington of Louisa; and a host of friends and extended family who all mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at South Ashland United Methodist Church in Ashland with The Rev. Keith Katterheinrich and Damola Asafa officiating. Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be fromm 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
