Betty Lou Wheeler Betty Lou Henson Wheeler, 87, of Ashland, Ky., passed away on January 7, 2019 at KDMC.
She was born on December 8, 1931 in Liberty, Ky., to the late Henry Levi and Della Holtzclaw Henson.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Maynard Wheeler in 1995;
brothers, Lawrence Henson, Hollis Henson, Forrest Henson, Virl Henson, and Earl Henson; and sisters, Mary Dick, Cloe Eads and Arlie Haggard.
Betty was a draftsman with Kenco & Associates, a member of Old Orchard Christian Church, and an avid needleworker.
She is survived by a son Ronald E. (Martha) Wheeler of Seymour, Tenn.; a daughter Suzanna (Anthony) Stephens of Ashland, Ky.; grandchildren, Amber Hockman (Chris) of Knoxville, Tenn., Aaron Wheeler (Janet) of Seymour, Tenn., John-Michael Brown of Ashland, Ky., Martha Stephens, Louisville, Ky., Sarah Stephens, Richmond, Ky., William Stephens (Summer) of Georgetown, Ky., Mary Stephens of Richmond, Ky., and Cadence Stephens of Ashland, Ky.; great grandchildren, Grace Hockman, Marie Brown, Faith Hockman, Garrett Hockman, Teresa Wheeler and Emmalynn Stephens; and sisters Beulah Wolf, of Newport Richey, Fla., and Mildred Coffey of Lexington, Ky.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 10 at 11 a.m. at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue and will be officiated by Minister Bill Kennedy. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m.
