William "Billy Jack" Canfield, 36, of Ashland, was welcomed home with open arms by his Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 20,2017, after a courageous battle with a long term illness.
Born on June 8,1981, to Vickie Roark Canfield and the late Rev. David Canfield. He was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandfather, Rev. William "Bill" Canfield; his maternal grandfather, Jack Roark; and an uncle, Brady Keith Canfield.
Surviving to carry on his legacy of faith are his devoted soul-mate of a decade, Britni Little-Canfield; his loving mother, Vickie Roark-Canfield; his brother, Michael (Lauren) Canfield; his beloved nephew, Wyatt Michael Canfield; his paternal "Mammaw", Mary Canfield-Austin (Paul); his maternal grandmother, Bea Roark; mother-in-law, Michelle Little-Crouch (Rocky); two sisters-in-law, Courtney Little, Sara Crouch; uncles, Jeff (Tonna) Canfield, Jeff (Mary-Lou) Roark, Jack (Robyn) Roark; and aunts, Teresa (Pete) Mills and Tina (Mike) Hogsten; two very special "fur babies", Roxy and Tucker; and a host of amazing family and friends.
Billy Jack was an avid hunter, fisherman, aquarium hobbyist and lover of life. Putting Christ first in everything he did, his zest for life, infectious smile and laugh made him impossible to forget.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2017, at Southside Church of the Nazarene in Catlettsburg with Pastor James Webster and Jeff Canfield officiating.
Visitation will be at the church Friday from 5-7.
In honor of Billy Jack, the family request that those attending wear casual clothing or their favorite UK attire.
Caniff Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A private burial will be at a later date.
