Bradley Allen Blanton, 28, of Coeburn, Va., formerly of Catlettsburg, passed away Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, at his home.
Brad was born Oct. 23, 1988, in Ashland, to Rickey Blanton and Jimmie Lee Fields.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Banjo Blanton; one aunt, Tracey Dawn Mays; and an uncle Ronnie "Banjo" Blanton.
Brad was a 2007 graduate of Boyd County High School and 2014 graduate of King University in Bristol where he played Baseball. He was in Technical Support with Sykes Enterprises. Brad enjoyed playing baseball and hunting, but most of all he loved being with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Hannah Renee Light Blanton; their two sweet babies, Addison Grace and Cameron Allen Blanton; a sister, Amy Lynn Blanton of Ashland; his grandmother, Joyce Blanton of Catlettsburg; his grandparents, Jim and Cheryl Fields; a father and mother-in-law, Kyle and Monica Light; a sister-in-law, Haley Mullins; two nephews, Michael Potter and Malachi Blanton; and a multitude of family and friends.
A funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, at Heritage Freewill Baptist Church located at 13136 US 180 in Ashland with Brother Ed Cook officiating.
His family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until service time Monday at the church.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, at Fannin Family Cemetery on Bear Creek in Catlettsburg.
For family and friends unable to travel to Kentucky, a Celebration of Life service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, at Mary's Chapel Church located at 501 Church Street SW in Coeburn, Va., with Pastor Marty Puckett officating.
In lieu of flowers, donations for his children's college fund may be sent to Kentucky Farmers Bank, In memory of Bradley A. Blanton, 2500 Broadway, Catlettsburg, KY 41129.
