Brenda Sue Dassell, 68, of Georgetown, passed away May 6, 2017, in the University of Kentucky Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington.
Brenda was born Dec. 2, 1948, in Ashland.
She was the wife of Eston "Buddy" Dassell of Georgetown; daughter of Charles E. Stamper (father, deceased), Charles Davis (stepfather, deceased) and Elizabeth Davis (mother, of Scott Depot, W.Va.); her children, sons, Clint Noble of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Adam Noble (Rachel) of London; stepdaughter Vicki Dassell-Bakes (Pat) of Columbia, Pa.; stepson Greg Dassell (Lisa) of Lithia, Fla.; stepdaughter Diane Burke (Kevin) 68, of Jeffersonville, Ind.; her siblings, a sister, Gayle Michael (Bill) of St. Albans, W.Va.; a brother, Charles Stamper Jr. (Jayne)of Barboursville, W.Va.; a stepbrother, Chuck Davis (Sherri) of Baton Rouge, La.; a brother, Johnnie Bert "JB" Stamper (deceased); 10 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two nieces; and beloved aunts and uncles.
Brenda was a graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School (class of 1966) and a longtime employee of Ashland Oil Inc. and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky, Inc. (retired in 2013).
She had many passions ranging from her talent of painting, gardening, decorating, baking and most importantly her beloved grandchildren. She made sure to instill the patience and skill of art with all of her children and grandchildren. She left behind a beautiful catalog of art with her paintings that will be cherished for years to come by all who adored her.Her famous recipes for homemade apple pie and the ever-famous decorated Christmas cookies could never be duplicated as she was one of a kind.
Brenda touched the lives of all who knew her and will be missed more than words can say.
Services will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Ashland First Church of the Nazarene, 2201 Bath Avenue in Ashland.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. Saturday and will be followed by a service by Pastor Kay Albright at 3 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, given Brenda's love for her grandchildren and all children in general, the family prefers a donation to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
