Brenda Popovich, 70, of Worthington, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, in Concord Health and Rehabilitation Center in Wheelersburg, Ohio, after a long illness.
Mrs. Popovich was born April 5, 1947, in Gary, W.Va., to the late Don and Hazel Webb.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Webb.
Brenda was a 1965 graduate of Gary High School. She earned a masters degree from Morehead State University. She was an educator at Holy Family School in Ashland and a teacher at Wurtland Middle School in Greenup County until her retirement.
Brenda was very passionate about helping to find homes for retired racing greyhounds. She will be missed by her canine friends, Speedo and Bridget.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Lawrence Popovich of Worthington; a daughter, Suzie Wortham of Hillsborough, N.C.; sisters-in-law, Janet Webb of Crossville, Tenn., Betty Popovich Ridgeway of North Chesterfield, Va., and Patricia Popovich Duda of Whittier, Calif.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Interment will be at a later date in Roselawn Cemetery in Princeton, W.Va.
Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods is in charge of arrangements.
