Mr. Carl McGlone, 82, of Olive Hill, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, in Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson.
He was born June 15, 1935, in Rooney, on McGlone Creek, a son of the late Mort and Susie Davis McGlone.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda McGlone; two brothers, Arlie McGlone and Orin McGlone; and two sisters, Marjorie Morris and Rosemary Lewis.
Carl was a member of Carter Christian Church and a life-long farmer. He loved working on his farm and raising his cattle. Carl enjoyed carpentry work, hunting and was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and U.K. Wildcats.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Darlene Adkins McGlone; one son and daughter-in-law, LTC (RET) Stan and Anita McGlone of Olive Hill; two grandchildren, Matthew and Jessica McGlone of Mt. Sterling and Misty Milton of Olive Hill; six great-grandchildren, Shannon Quinn, Ava Grace McGlone, Solomon Justice, Suzie McGlone, Kyle Hanes and Alex McGlone; one brother, Omer McGlone of Dayton, Ohio; and many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill with Brother Gary Sparks and Brother Terrell Webb officiating. Burial will be in McGlone Creek Cemetery in Olive Hill. Joey Davis, Jeff Davis, Roger McGlone, Miles Lewis, Rusty Adkins, Allen McGlone, Matt McGlone and Shannon Quinn will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
