Carol's Story

Carol Ann DeWitt, 74, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017, in Cartersville Medical Center in Cartersville, Ga.
She was born Dec. 11, 1942, in Ashland, the daughter of the late Jasper and Marjorie Pack Wheeler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry E. DeWitt, who passed away Feb. 23, 2010.
She was a retired bookkeeper for Gallia County Senior Citizens Center and a member of Gallipolis Church of Christ in Christian Union.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Michele (Tracy) Sweat of Acworth, GA., and Patricia (Scotty) Parker of Las Vegas, N.V.; two grandsons, Will Riffe and Devon Sweat; four sisters, Mae Irons, of Kenova, W.Va., Ella Caskey of Coal Grove, Ohio, Sharon Sparks of Ashland and Sophie Fluty of Morehead; three brothers, Robert Wheeler, Jasper Wheeler and Kenneth Wheeler all of Ashland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2017, at Gallipolis Church of Christ in Christian Union with Pastor Mike Buchanan officiating. Interment will be in Vinton Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Cremeens-King Funeral Chapel in Gallipolis.
