Carrie Lou McDowell Cumpston, 78, of Catlettsburg, passed away Fri., Oct. 5, 2018 at Kings Daughters Medical Center.
Mrs. Cumpston was born Aug. 11, 1940 in Blaine, Ky. to the late Ora and Gertie Boggs McDowell. She was also preceded in death by sons; Randy Cumpston and Chris Cumpston; brother, Lowell McDowell; and sisters, Joy Estep, Goldie Young, Nora Endicott, and Linda Sloan.
Carrie retired from The Blue Grass Grill as assistant manager, and had held management positions at Avon and Pennco. She enjoyed volunteering at Boyd County Schools.
Carrie is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Charles R. Cumpston; their daughter, Connie (Joe) Rucker, of Catlettsburg; special nephew Randy Conley; two grandchildren, Kendra Smith and Alyssa Rucker; two great grandchildren, Jace Harrison and Jaxon Baldridge; sisters, Shirley Hopson (Glen) of Prestonsburg, Ky. and Joyce Carter (Paul) of South Shore, Ky.
Funeral Service for Mrs. Cumpston will be at 1 p.m. Thur., Oct. 11, 2018 at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home, 2702 Panola Street, Catlettsburg, with Pastor Tom Jackson officiating. Final resting place in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens. Visiting hours are 11 a.m. until Service Time Thur. at the Funeral Home.

Please accept our sincere sympathy. We are out of town and so sorry that we cannot be there to pay our respects in person. Carrie and her family were alway very special to us. She was a valued friend and employee for many years. May God grant peace and comfort to her family during the coming days.
