Carroll Otis DeLong, 85, of Russell, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018, in Life Care Center in Morehead.
The Ironton, Ohio native was born April 18, 1932, the son of the late Pearl and Mabel Everly DeLong.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Lee Warix DeLong, whom he married May 9, 1959.
Carroll was a graduate of Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va. and studied Law in Columbus, Ohio. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a former District Manager for Ashland Oil, where he worked for 37 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ashland and volunteered at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Cheryl (Tom) Walker of Matthews, N.C.; two sons, Jeffrey C. DeLong of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and John W. (Tessa) DeLong of Flatwoods; grandsons, Nicholas Walker of Naples, Fla., Zachary Walker of Matthews, N.C., Johnny W. DeLong II of Russell and Caden V. DeLong of Flatwoods; great-granddaughter, Elaina W. DeLong of Russell; brother, Curtis (Pat) DeLong; sister-in-law, Carol (Leonard) Bryant; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family
Funerals services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2018, at Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton, Ohio with Rev. Don Young officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made to Community Hospice of Ashland, Hospice of Moorehead or First United Methodist Church of Ashland.
