Cecil Everett "Mack" McKenzie Jr., 76, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017, in Woodland Oaks Health Care Facility.
He was born March 9, 1941, in Ashland, a son of the late Cecil Everett McKenzie Sr. and Ruth Harrison McKenzie.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife of 56 years, Janet Susan Workman McKenzie on March 20, 2017.
Mack retired after 28 years with the Army National Guard, 25 years with the Ashland Fire Department and was owner and operator of Mack's Window Cleaning Service. He coached Ashland JFL for over 20 years and Boyd County Optimist Girls Basketball and Baseball.
He is survived by a son, Jimbo McKenzie (Sabrena) of Ashland; two daughters, Gerri Richardson (Scott) of Ashland and Diana "Mo" Taylor (Ken) of Ashland; three brothers, Mike McKenzie of West Virginia, Scott McKenzie of Lexington and Jim McKenzie of Ashland; four sisters, Carol Runyon of Ashland, Ethel Dixon of Flatwoods, Betty Blizzard of Ashland and Fern Withrow of Ashland; five grandchildren, Jennifer "Niki" Sanders, Ashley Hogsten, Eric Taylor, Alex Joseph Hoffman and Patty Richardson; 10 great-grandchildren, Jarrett Sanders, Ryder Hampton, Austin, Ethan, Skyler and Jace Hogsten, Noah Smith, Elijah Dewees, Drew Taylor and Brayden Hughes.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2017, at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel in Ashland with words of comfort provided by Pastor Brian Steele and Pastor Mike Moore. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland where military rites will be provided by U.S. Army, Kenova American Legion Post 93 and Ashland Fire Department.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
