Charles E. Black, 66, of Ashland, went to be with his Lord Monday, May 15, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland with his loving family at his side.
Mr. Black was born July 17, 1950, in Huntington, W.Va., to Eudora Bowling Rymer of Catlettsburg and Charles Black of Catlettsburg. Charlie served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force and retired in 2015 from Johnson's Body Shop. He loved dancing, working on his Corvette and car shows. He was a member of Oakland Avenue Baptist Church.
He is survived by his parents; a son, Matthew Scott Black of Ashland; his fiancé, Toni Lauhon; and a brother, Dwight R. Black of Flatwoods.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2017, at Neal Funeral Home in Catlettsburg with Pastor Mike Blankenship officiating. His final resting place will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017, and after noon Friday at the funeral home.
