Charles Ray's Story

Charles Ray "Chuck" Williams, 85, of Ashland, KY, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
The Greenup, IL, native was born August 25, 1932, a son of the late Ebb and Elanor Ewing Williams. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy J. Carruthers Williams who passed away February 27, 2008; and two brothers, Harry Lee Williams and Paul Williams.
Chuck was a graduate of Princeton High School and a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was an engineer for Ashland Oil retiring in 1992 after 42 years of service and was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by two daughters, Nancy L. Williams of St. Petersburg, FL, and Joyce (Jim) Leslie of Ashland; a son, Scott R. (Pam) Williams of Burlington, KY; two grandchildren, Jamie Marie Leslie of Ashland, and Jennifer R. Williams of California; a sister, Renee White of Evansville, IN; and a special friend, Wendell Shaffer of Ironton.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018, in Ashland Cemetery by Pastor Dan Godwin.
There will be no public visitation.
Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, Ohio, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
