Charlote Joyce Taylor McCreary, 70, of Louisa, went to rest peacefully with the Lord Aug. 1, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center, after a long and courageous battle with leukemia.
She was born July 23, 1947, in Glasgow, to the late Charles M. and Joyce S. Taylor.
She was a dedicated member of Louisa United Methodist Church for more than 40 years. One of her greatest attributions to the community was her involvement with her children and grandchildren. From being a homeroom mother to a team mom and the biggest sideline cheerleader for all, Nana was not only significant to her family but also to many other friends throughout time. She often said her greatest calling was to be a mom.
Charlote is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Sheldon McCreary; three beloved sons, Ty McCreary (Jennifer), Michael McCreary (Keisha) and Chad McCreary (Caryn); and seven treasured grandchildren, Taylor, Cole, Cade, Carlyn, Cannon, Emily and Aubrey.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at Louisa United Methodist Church with Pastors Guy Moyer and Dan Smith officiating. Burial will be in Yatesville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at Young's Funeral Home in Louisa.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Louisa United Methodist Church Building Fund or Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
