Chloe's Story

Chloe Ann Prater Pennington, 99, of Grayson, went to be with her Lord Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, in Oak Mont Manor in Flatwoods.
Chloe was born April 8, 1917, in Willard, a daughter of the late James and Ida Stevens Prater. In addition to her parents, Chloe was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hargis Pennington; two daughters, Judy France and Velma Crump; a granddaughter, Denise Gillespie; two sisters, Opal Bailey and Nellie Stafford Mullins; and three brothers, Walter Prater, Chester Prater and Frank Prater.
Chloe was a member of the Willard Wesleyan Church and loved to be with friends and family.
Chloe is survived by four grandchildren, Guania Hedge Kraft, Diane Hedge Wilson, Willie Hedge and Michael France; several great and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family who all mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at the Willard Wesleyan Church with David Wilcox and Denver Prater officiating. Burial will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Malone Funeral Home in Grayson is in charge of arrangements.
