Claude Willis Allie, 68, lifelong resident of Catlettsburg, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018, at his home.
Mr. Allie was born July 10, 1949, in Ashland, KY, to the late Harry E. Allie and Mabel Wiley Allie Bellamy.
He attended England Hill Elementary School and was a graduate of Boyd County High School. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he received the Army Presidential Unit Citation, Army Meritorious Unit Commendations, Army Commendations-Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service, Vietnam Service Aug. 69 through 70, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Claude was a life member of VFW Post 8429 Ceredo, WV, and a member of American Legion Post 93, Kenova, WV. After 28 years with the Boyd County Road Department he retired as foreman and he was a truck driver for Wrights Trucking.
His hobbies included fishing, boating, mechanic, racing and showing horses. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving is his loving wife of 26 years, Tina Robin Wright Allie; son Brent Jones and his wife, Cindy, of Ashland; two grandchildren, Brooklyn Jones and Brent Jones. Also surviving are three brothers, Clinton Allie (Nancy) of Catlettsburg, Kermit Allie (Joyce) of Ithaca, MI, and Bert Allie (Nancy) of Hampton, GA; and one sister, Marcelyn Maynard of Catlettsburg.
Funeral services for Mr. Allie will be at 12 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Neal Funeral Home, 2409 Center Street, Catlettsburg. Brother Mike Neal will officiate. Final rest in Jacob Allie Cemetery, Route 3, Catlettsburg. Military Honors by the U.S. Army and Kenova Post 93.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to service time on Thursday.
