Clifford S. Oney, 92, of Raceland, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at his home.
Mr. Oney was born Jan. 26, 1925, in Raceland, a son of the late Kenneth and Ethel Mitchell Oney.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Willa Dean Oney; a son, Donald Oney; four brothers, Ishmael Oney, Bobby Oney, Henry Oney and Glen Oney; a son-in-law, Don Dillow; and great-grandson, Cole Thomas.
Mr. Oney was a Deacon for 46 years at First Baptist Church in Raceland and was a member of the Masons. He was a proud graduate and supporter of Raceland High School.
Mr. Oney retired from C&O railroad, where he worked as a carman. He was a WWII veteran and proudly served his country
Mr. Oney is survived by his daughter, Pam Dillow of Raceland; two brothers, Richard Oney of Ironton and Billy Oney of Raceland; five grandchildren, Christy (Kenny) Reed, Jake (Amy) Hewlett, Natalie Ross, Morgan (Grace) Dillow and Tate (Jess) Dillow; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Raceland with Rev. Tom Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, at the church.
