Dale Harwood, 89, of Olive Hill, went to be with his Lord Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, in Elliott Nursing and Rehab in Sandy Hook.
Dale was the son of the late John Marion and Wilma Beatrice Corn Harwood.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Seth Sigmon; and three brothers, John, Jim and Pete Harwood.
He was a member of the West Logan Missionary Baptist Church, retired from C&O Railroad and served his country in the Army during World War II. Dale was a Boy Scout leader for over 50 years and awarded the Silver Beaver, he was a gifted musician, loved carving wood and playing his guitar.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel Stewart Harwood; one daughter, Debbie Sigmon of Grayson; one son, Douglas Harwood of Logan, W.Va.; one brother, Paul Harwood of LasVegas, N.V.; five grandchildren, Jason, Jarrod and Jessica Harwood and Shade and Shayne Sigmon; four great-grandchildren, Anthony Sigmon, Leah, Benjamin and Jack Harwood.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017, at Malone Funeral Home with Brian Bush officiating. Burial will be in East Carter Memory Gardens with full military rites.
