Donald R. Coburn Donald R. Coburn, 74, of Ashland, passed away Thursday January 3, 2019 at Hospice Care Center.
He was born April 20, 1944 in Ashland, the son of Carrie Caines Coburn of Grayson, Ky. and the late Ralph Coburn.
He was a retired machinist for AK Steel. He also attended Wildwood Church of God, was a member of Greeenhills Masonic Lodge and a member of the Kentucky National Guard.
In addition to his father, he was also preceeded in death by a daughter, Belva Louise Coburn.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Riggs Coburn of Ashland; one daughter, Tracy Adkins (Jamie) of Catlettsburg, Ky.; one son, Scott Coburn (Molly) of Ashalnd, Ky.; one sister, Diana Holbrook of Grayson, Ky.; and five grandchildren, Trevor Hayes, Dillon Adkins, Trey Coburn, Kolby Coburn and Haleigh Adkins.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday January 7, 2019 at Miller Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Harris and Chaplain Jimm Smedley officiating. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Shirley, you have been in my thoughts and prayers for the past many months and will continue. My friendship with Don began in grade school and continued during our time at Armco. I know he was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be missed greatly. However, we know this separation is but for a short time. Pat and I send our love.
