Dr. Dorval's Story
Dr. Dorval Donahoe, 85, of Barboursville, W.Va., husband of Alice Sue Donahoe, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House.
He was born April 30, 1932, in Wayne County, W.Va., the son of Joseph Ollie Donahoe and Verdie Tabor Donahoe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Julie Donahoe; a son, Ronnie Chambers; and a brother, Larry Joe Donahoe.
He was a retired physician, Chief of Staff at King's Daughters Medical Center and worked at Logan General.
He was a U.S. Marine Veteran and served during the Korean war.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Dillon Donahoe of Barboursville, W.Va.; a son, Dorval "Schoch" Donahoe II and wife Lara of Huntington, W.Va.; a daughter, Susie Chambers of Barboursville, W.Va.; two brothers, Lowell and Dale Donahoe, both of Catlettsburg; a daughter-in-law, Catherine Belvin Donahoe of Barboursville, W.Va.; a daughter-in-law, Sally Chambers of Logan, W.Va.; and seven beloved grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at Word of Life Church in Logan, W.Va.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington. Beard Mortuary in Huntington, W.Va., is in charge of arrangements.
