Edith Williams Ross Edith Ross, 97 of Russell, Ky. went to be with the Lord March 12, 2019 at her home.
She was born April 8, 1921 in Worthington Ky. She was the daughter of the late David Cleveland Williams and Nanny Roe Mitchell.
Mrs. Ross was accomplished on the Accordion, Piano and on the Organ. She owned and managed Ross Department Store in Raceland, also owned and managed Ross Lawn Mower Shop in Raceland. During her younger years she often rapped music with local musicians and played piano for the Methodist Church Choir. She was active in delivering meals on wheels at the age of 85. She began driving the family car at age 13 and never had an auto accident.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist, until it closed. She was a current member of Advance United Methodist. She was a graduate of Raceland-Worthington Schools.
She is also survived by her dear friend of ninety plus years, Loraine Kendall.
She was preceded in death by her husband James H. Ross; one son, Charles; two brothers, Ralph (Marie)Williams and Madison (Etch) Williams; and one sister Mildred (Sherman) McBrayer.
She is survived by son James E. (Dianna)Ross; one grandson, Matthew (Laura of Frankfort, Ky.; and two granddaughters, Amy (Chris) Robbins of Livermore, Ca. and Mindy (Saso) Antovski of Lexington Ky.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Evans Funeral Home by Rev. Bob Sweeney. Entombment will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. till time of the service Friday at the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, make contributions to Ashland Hospice.
