Effie Charlene Clay Williamson, 93, of Catlettsburg, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, in Knott County Health and Rehab in Hindman.
Mrs. Williamson was born Feb. 4, 1924, in Boyd County, to the late Floyd and Laura Tomblin Clay.
Effie was also preceded in death by her adoring husband of 74 years, Paul, in February 2017; their son, Dennie Williamson; daughter-in-law Lori Williamson; sisters, Lelia Ball, Katheryn McKnight and Wyenna Vaughn; and brothers, Howard Clay and Harold Clay.
Effie was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed sewing, quilting and flowers. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and Eastern Star.
She is survived a son, Ron Williamson and wife Shirley of Leburn; three grandchildren, Rod (Amy) Williamson, Mica Williamson (Danny Smith) and Ryan Williamson; three great-grandchildren, Emily (Michael) Mabry, Abigail Williamson and Chloe Williamson; one great-great-grandchild, Conner Lee Mabry; soon to be born great-great-grandchild, Weston Michael Mabry; and one sister, Phyllis (Glen) Byron.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home, 2702 Panola Street in Catlettsburg with Rev. Charles Allen officiating. Final resting place will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
