Elmer Lowe, 90, of Grayson, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at Huntington Veteran's Hospital.
Elmer was born Feb. 10, 1927, in Olive Hill, a son of the late Lewis and Mona Mauk Lowe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Arlie and Lloyd Lowe; and one sister, Velda Roe.
He retired from Massey-Ferguson in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, where he was a member of United Auto Workers union, Grayson Masonic Lodge 145 F&AM, Scottish Rite and El Hasa Shrine Temple. Elmer was a Kentucky colonel and of the Christian faith.
He served his country proudly in the Army during the Korean conflict.
Elmer is survived by his wife of 53 years, Idell Leadingham Lowe; one son, Lee (Mischelle) Lowe of Lexington; one sister, Alene Jacobs of Olive Hill; two brothers, Carmel Lowe and George Lowe both, of Olive Hill; and a step-son, Marvin Cody Whitt of Bruin.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at Malone Funeral Home with Tom Riffe minister. Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens with military rites. Pallbearers will be Lewis Leadingham, Jeff Lewis, Jim McCormick, Mike Lowe, Gary Caudill and Roger Lowe.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
