Emma Elizabeth Traylor, 90, passed away Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, in Trinity Station Retirement Community in Flatwoods, where she had resided for the past seven years.
She was born May 5, 1927, a daughter of the late Carolyn Rece McWhorter and George Marcellus McWhorter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Jack E. Traylor; and a brother, George "Bud-o" McWhorter.
Emma was a life-long member of First Baptist Church Russell, where she was a member of the choir and the Winsome Sunday School Class.
She is survived by two sons, Wesley Traylor and wife Jo of Russell and Bryan Traylor and wife Linda of Atlanta; a daughter, Suzanne Traylor of Salt Lake City; five grandchildren, Cammie (Ed) Maynard, Bryan(Lindsay) Traylor, Blake Traylor, Anna (Chris) Walters and Dennis (Angel) Schramm; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods with Rev. Johnny Riley and Rev. Ken Gowin officiating. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Russell Building Fund or Community Hospice.
