Fay A. Johnson, 90, of Greenup, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 12, 1927, in Tygart's Valley, a daughter of the late John and Emily Vaughn Adkins.
She was a member of Greenup Christian Church. Her favorite bible verse was "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Johnson in 2008; five brothers, Ezra Adkins, Virgil Adkins, James Adkins, Leonard Adkins and Edward Adkins; and four sisters, Mabel Adkins, Barbara Adkins, Martha Billups and Hazel Baker.
She is survived by one son, Kenneth J. Johnson and wife RuthAnn of Lexington; a daughter, Pamela J. Nichols and husband Don of Worthington; two grandchildren, Brandon Johnson of Lexington and Kristen Francis and husband Mike of Worthington; two great-grandchildren, Ford Francis and Shepard Francis; a brother, Boyd Adkins and wife Edith of Lloyd; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, at Greenup Christian Church by Brother Mike Dennis. Burial will be in Vaughn-Johnson Cemetery in Load.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
