Frances's Story

Frances Jean Kershner, formerly of Ashland, passed away Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, in Louisville.
She was born in Hillsboro, W.Va., in 1930, the daughter of the late William W. and Hallie M. Clutter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John W. Kershner; and a brother, Jack Clutter and wife Bonnie of Second Creek, W.Va.
Mrs. Kershner attended Second Baptist Church in Ashland for many years and was an active member of Friendship Class of the Church. She worked at C & P Telephone Company in Lewisburg for many years, had many friends and enjoyed traveling with them.
After leaving Lewisburg she moved and lived in Ashland for 54 years where she enjoyed being a housewife.
Sadly she leaves behind a son, Douglas Kershner and wife Patti of Shelbyville; a sister-in-law, Agnes Simmons of Lewisburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Pastor Rick Brown officiating. Interment will be in Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg.
The family will receive friends and family from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
