Garland Edward Knipp, 88 of Grayson went to be with his Lord on Thurs., Nov. 01, 2018 at his residence following a long illness.
Garland was born Nov. 3, 1929 in Carter County, Ky., a son of the late Nathan and Lucy Roseberry Knipp. He retired from General Refractories in Hitchins, he was a farmer and a member of the Wilson Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death his wife Dorothy Counts Knipp in 2008; by a son, Freddie Nathan Knipp; and granddaughter, Monda Knipp.
His survivors include one son, Larry (Pat) Knipp of Grayson; two daughters, Patricia Knipp and Brenda G. (Everett Wolfe) Sexton both of Grayson; five grandchildren, Tyler Sexton, Wayne (Jessica) Sexton, Miranda (Talmage) Duncan, Laura (Steve) Stevens and Ryan (Brooke) Knipp; eight grandchildren, Gavin Edward Sexton, Megan Lenn Sexton, Brock Taylor Sexton, Ashby Stevens, Laura (Bryan) Gail Rayburn, Peyton Duncan, Kamryn Duncan and Leah Knipp; one great-great-grandson, Silas Rayburn; special care-givers, John and Marsha Holbrook and Mary Kiser.
Services will be Mon. 1 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home with Bro. Joed Rice, minister. Burial will be in the Grayson Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call Mon. from 11:00 a.m. till service. Condolences and memories may be sent to family at malonefuneralhome.com.
