Gene Alvin Ramey, 81, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
He was born April 26, 1937, in Ashland, the son of the late William Butler and Pearl Osborne Ramey. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.
He was a former Ashland City employee, former coach of Ashland Little League Baseball, member of the Ashland Elks Lodge 350, a Navy veteran and of the Christian faith.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Geraldine Hannah Jones Ramey of Ashland; two daughters, Garnet "Liz" Kitchen and Staci Kellogg, both of Ashland; two sons, Yancy Ramey (Susan) of Ashland and Isac "Ike" Butler Ramey (Carrie) of Burlington, KY; one sister, Shirley Price of Ashland; one brother, Alec Carmel Ramey (Phyllis) of Ashland; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2018, at Miller Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Elks services will be by the Ashland Elks Lodge 350.
