Georgia's Story

Georgia Ann Osborne Sanders, 82, formerly of Ashland, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, May 9, 2017, in Louisville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted J. Sanders M.D.; and surrounded during her life and death by loving family.
She was a registered nurse and a native Kentuckian born in Pulaski County. After graduating from Somerset High School she attended Kentucky Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. She met her future husband there, graduating in 1957.
She had a particular interest in pediatric nursing and worked in that field initially in Louisville and later in Somerset. When her life took her to Prestonsburg, she became the director of the Prestonsburg branch of the Central Kentucky Blood Center. She was always active in community organizations, contributing in that way to the health of the community.
She was a warm, loving wife, mother, and grandmother and beloved by her family.
She is survived by daughters, Dr. Terrie Williams (Russell), Jill Sanders and Robin Waddles of Chapel Hill, N.C. and Eve Marie Sanders; a brother, Vincent Osborne of Tuczon, Ariz.; grandchildren, Jared, Travis and Alexander Williams, Jacquie Evans of Durham, N.C. and Marie Waddles of Columbus, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Kyle and Bryson Evans; and multiple much loved nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Pearson's Funeral Home, 149 Breckenridge Lane in Louisville.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and after 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
