Georgia's Story

Georgia Eleanor Young Hamilton, 80, of Marshfield, Mo., passed peacefully Saturday, June 10, 2017.
A loving mother and grandmother, Georgia was the daughter of Capt. William D. Young Jr. and Clara Husing Young. She was born Nov. 17, 1936, in Rockport, Mo.
In addition to her parents, She was preceded in death by her loving son, Wayne Ford Hamilton; and her dearly beloved brother, Henry Husing Young.
She attended Boyd County High School and graduated from Marshall University with a degree in Liberal Arts
Georgia grew up in Catlettsburg and lived most of her life in Ashland but also resided in Fallsburg. She co-owned and helped operate the former Ray's Automotive and Fallsburg Antiques. She was a talented writer, painter, and seamstress...loving to create beauty in everything she did. She loved to knit, creating beautiful pieces for each child and grandchild to cherish her memory. Georga loved geneaology, reading, knitting and her church, St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Georga is survived by a daughter, Jeanette (Douglass) Windhorst of South Point, Ohio; four grandchildren, William Ray (Allison) Hatter of Pleasant View, Tenn., Mitchell Curtis Hatter of Edgewood, Valerie Nicole (Aaron) Campbell of South Point, Ohio and Charlie Wayne Hamilton of Keyser, W.Va.; two step-grandchildren, Greg Windhorst of South Point and Brad Windhorst of Ashland; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Her remains will be returned to Ashland and placed beside her father and mother at Golden Oaks Cemetery in Ashland.
