Glenna Kay Van Horn Pope, 76, of Grayson went to be with her Lord Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell.
Glenna was born June 13, 1941, in Greenup County, a daughter of the late Kenneth "Jack" and Emerald Sturgill Van Horn.
In addition to her parents, She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years in 2005, Elwood "Woody" Pope; a daughter, Jacki Gail Pope; and great-grandson, Jaci Moore.
Glenna was a member of Barrett's Creek Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Armco after 15 years of service. She never met a stranger. Glenna enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Lori (RJ) Wall and Paula (David) Thornberry, both of Grayson; eight grandchildren, Edward (Misty) Wall, Phillip (Makesha) Wall, Jeremy Thornberry, Valerie (Matt) Lands, Trista (JR) Moore, Traci (Jason) Lewis, Brandon Thornberry and Kayla Thornberry; 16 great-grandchildren, Samantha, Gunner, Shayla, Hannah, Briar, Preston, Makenzie, Haden, Tanner, Marley, Madison, Emma, Bennett, Owen H., Owen R. and Lila; a brother, Curt Bays; and her special pet cat, Ladybug.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with George Steele officiating. Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
