Harry M. Osborne, Jr.


Harry M. Osborne, Jr., 85, lifelong resident of Flatwoods, Ky., passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.
Harry was born November 7, 1933, in Flatwoods, a son of the late Harry M. Sr. and Verna Lewis Osborne and his mother that raised him Carrie Hensley Osborne.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his son Kevin E. Osborne.
Harry attended Russell Schools and was a member of Advance Memorial United Methodist Church. He enjoyed camping and for many years was a member of the Tri-State Georgie Boys camping club. Harry retired as an electrician from CSX with 43 years of service. He was a member of the I.B.E.W. local 940 and served his country honorably with the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a Kentucky Colonel.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 56 years Martha Lutz Osborne of Flatwoods; brothers Herbert R. (Fran) Osborne of Lexington, Ky., James R. (Nancy) Osborne of Flatwoods; sisters Virginia L. Carter of Raceland, Brenda C. (Ken) Loyer of Russell; several nieces, nephews and a host of good friends.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2019 at the Advance Memorial United Methodist Church in Flatwoods by Pastor Sean P. Schroll. Burial with military honors will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel and Monday morning at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to Advance Memorial United Methodist Church, 1013 Bellefonte Road, Flatwoods, KY 41139
