Hazel A. Hardeman Griffith, 83, of Ashland, passed away Monday, July 10, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center surrounded by family.
Mrs. Griffith was born Feb. 15, 1934, in Lawrence County, to the late Earl and Lettie Pennington Hardeman. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Glen A. Griffith; son Roger W. Griffith; brothers, George, Robert, John and Floyd Hardeman; granddaughter Stephanie Griffith; and a great-grandchild, CT Chaffins.
Hazel retired as Cafeteria Manager from Boyd County School Systems after 21 years. She was a member of Ashland IPCC.
Surviving are children, Glen E. Griffith (Patricia), Jerry Griffith (Pamela), Ronald Griffith (Elizabeth) and Cheryl Blair (Chuck) all of Ashland, Melissa Boggs (Bryan) of Park City; daughter-in-law Donna Griffith of Ashland; grandchildren, Wayne Griffith, Christopher Griffith (Mandy), David Griffith (Alicia), LeighAnn Chaffins (Chris), Jeremy Griffith, Lora Griffith, Paul Caudill (Holly), Alison Webb (Mark), Stephanie Blair, Samantha Serrano (Chase), Ben Blair, Brittany Lemaster (Jeff), Hannah Kelley, Joey Griffith, Cindy Griffith, Dusty Griffith, Paige Boggs and Chase Boggs; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, William Harold Hardeman (Lucille) of Catlettsburg, Earl Hardeman (Linda) of Ashland, and Ralph Hardeman (Fran) of Elizabethtown; sisters, Mildred Burkholder of Grayson, Margaret Alexander (David) of Satsuma, Fla., and Debbie Hall of Satsuma; sister-in-law Dorothy Hardeman of Ashland and special adopted sister, Sadie Blair of Ashland.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2017, at Neal Funeral Home, 2409 Center Street in Catlettsburg. Pastor Dwayne Young will officiate. Final resting place in Hardeman Cemetery.
Visitation after 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
