Hazel Lou Rhoden Hazel Lou Rhoden, 83, of Big Leatherwood Road, Greenup went to be with the Lord Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, at her daughter's house in Wheelersburg, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family.
Hazel was born July 20, 1935 in Greenup County, Ky., a daughter of the late Edward and Lottie Myers Bertram.
She was a strong, independent woman that took care of her family who she loved dearly. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. Though our hearts may grieve, we know she is now in peace safely home in Heaven with her Lord and Savior at last.
She was preceded in death by her husband Earnest Rhoden; two sons Marvin Rhoden and Stevie Ray Rhoden; two daughters Christine Vaughn and Patricia Estep; three grandchildren Ronnie Rhoden, Ernestine Estep, and Janie Vaughn; five brothers Bill Bertram, Jim Bertram, Don Bertram, Wesley Bertram, and Albert Bertram; five sisters Bernice Knauff, Garnett Wilburn, Annie Rose, Kathleene Bertram, and Frances Rucker.
She is survived by one son Danny (Debbie) Rhoden of Big Leatherwood, Ky.; two daughters Connie Rhoden of Big Leatherwood, Ky., and Gloria (Tim) Lewis of Wheelersburg, Ohio; two sisters Myrtle Madden of South Shore, Ky., and Cloetine Madden of Mansville, Ohio; a brother, Lewis Bertram; and a sister-in-law whom she was close to Ollie Bertram of Garrison; one daughter-in-law Bobbi Rhoden of Otway, Ohio; a grandson Jacob Lewis who was very special to her; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Fri., Sept. 7, 2018, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Minister Zach Evans. Burial will be in the Rhoden Cemetery at Garrison. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time on Fri. at the funeral home. Condolences may be made at rlrfuneralhome.com
