Hershel Edward Rhoden, 72, of Greenup, passed away, Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, at his residence.
He was born July 14, 1945, in Greenup County, a son of the late Joseph S. Rhoden and Thelma Royster Rhoden.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Rufus Rhoden.
He retired from Columbus Asphalt Paving in Columbus, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, Tiney Rister Rhoden, whom he married Dec. 3, 1993; three sons, Elvis Rister of Ashland, Jeff Rhoden of Morehead and Layton Rhoden of Lucasville, Ohio; two daughters, June Craft of South Shore and Tonia Arnold of Sciotoville, Ohio; six brothers, David Rhoden, Ronnie Rhoden, Virgil Rhoden Wayne Rhoden, Billy Rhoden and Zandle Rhoden, all of Garrison and Marshal Rhoden of South Shore: one sister, Ruth Moore of Garrison; best friends, Winnie and Hannah Meadows; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore with Pastor Gary Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in Rhoden Cemetery in Garrison.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
