Howard E. Sparks, 92, of Ashland, Kentucky, husband of Bette Sparks, died Sunday afternoon, August 6th, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
Howard was born August 19, 1924, in Boyd County, KY, a son of the late Herbert and Maggie Brown Sparks.
He and Bette were longtime members of the Westwood Wesleyan Church and Howard was the regional Snap On tool dealer.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents, by two brothers, James H. and Thomas M. Sparks; and a son-in-law, Robert Phipps.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife Bette, include a son, Howard E. Sparks Jr. and wife Carol of Huntington, West Virginia; three daughters, Rosemary Phipps of Ashland, Pamela Kouns and husband Carroll of Russell, KY, and Deborah Brewer and husband Rusty of Louisville, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 10th, at 1 p.m. by Pastor Charles Rice at Preston Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Dixon Cemetery.
