Jack's Story

Text size

In the loving embrace of his family, Jack Chandler "Tad" Arnett Jr., left this life for a far greater reward. He passed peacefully, Aug. 7, 2017, in Huntington Health and Rehab.
Tad was born Sept. 19, 1956, in Boyd County, to Betsy Robinson Arnett of Catlettsburg and the late Jack C. Arnett Sr.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jon Michael Arnett.
Tad was a 1974 graduate of Catlettsburg High School and attended Berea College. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy and retired from Ironworkers Local 769.
To know Tad, was to know a free spirit, a poet, an artist and lover of nature. He was well versed in God's word and walked nearer to him each day. His smile and tender way touched many hearts and he was adored by his family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Betsy Arnett of Catlettsburg; his son that he adored, Jack Chandler "Chan" (Lynn) Arnett III of Catlettsburg; three siblings, Cheri Lynne Arnett of Catlettsburg, Yvette Lee (Russ) Blevins of Ashland and Jay (Susan) Arnett of Ashland; several nieces and nephews; Uncle Tom (Barbara) Robinson of Louisa; and Aunt Blanche Malone of Catlettsburg.
At Tad's request, all services will be private.
In lieu of flowers and in tribute to Tad's giving spirit, his family asked that you help those less fortunate than yourself. May a multitude of selfless acts be the legacy he leaves behind.
Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home in Catlettsburg is in charge of arrangements.
