James Lewis Erwin, 70, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
James was born June 7, 1947, in Lewis County, to the late Walter and Dolly Fultz Erwin.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by three brothers, Clayton Erwin, Billie Joe Erwin and Paul Erwin; and two sisters, Louise Baber and Emogene Bradley.
James proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Wayne Supply as a heavy equipment mechanic. He was a faithful member of 13th Street Free Will Baptist Church and a member of Rush Masonic Lodge 715 F&AM. James was a Kentucky colonel.
He leaves behind two sisters, Delma Haggard of Morehead and Jewell Beaudry of Hilliard, Ohio; two brothers, Karl Erwin of Dayton, Ohio and Albert Erwin of Blanchester, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood with the Rev. Chuck Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Masonic services at 12:45 p.m. by officers and members of Rush Masonic Lodge 715, F&AM.
