James "Jay"'s Story
James "Jay" A. Roark, 69, of Lloyd, KY, passed away Monday morning, December 11, 2017, at his residence.
Jay was born October 15, 1948, in Carter County, KY, to the late Earl and Elizabeth Blevins Roark. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Sue Roark, Dathyne Pennington and Betty Warren.
Jay was a U.S. Navy veteran, retired from AK Steel, of Baptist faith and enjoyed music, knife collecting and restoring cars.
Surviving him are his wife of 50 years, Bonita Adkins Roark of Lloyd; his daughters, Kera Roark Adkins and her husband, Chris, of Cannonsburg, KY, Holly Roark Tarr and her husband, Travis, of Milton, WV, and Shelly Roark Kiser and her husband, Shaun, of Ashland, KY; his brother, Phillip Roark of Wurtland, KY; and his sisters, Terri Roark of Richmond, KY, and Linda Brown of Worthington, KY. Also surviving are his precious grandchildren, Scarlett Adkins, Alexis Tarr, Bentley James Tarr, Grayson Kiser, Ava Kiser and Benjamin Kiser.
Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2017, and from noon until service time on Thursday at Music Family Funeral Home in Greenup.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2017, by Brother Gary Blevins at Music Family Funeral Home in Greenup. Burial will follow funeral services in Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd. Military rites will be performed by Ceredo-Kenova American Legion Post 93.
