Jane Bandy Norris, 93, of Flatwoods, formerly of Ashland, entered the Church Triumphant Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, in Trinity Station Retirement Community in Flatwoods.
Mrs. Norris was born Sept. 11, 1924, in Bristol, Tenn., to the late Carey and Bess Haynes Bandy.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Norris was preceded in death by one daughter, Elizabeth "Libby" Norris Bogitsh; a son-in-law, Glen Bogitsh; and one sister, Betty Bandy Cruise.
Mrs. Norris was a 1942 graduate of Ashland High School, graduated from University of Kentucky and attended a masters program at Radcliffe College. She was of the Presbyterian faith.
Mrs. Norris is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, James T. Norris Jr. of Flatwoods; one son, James T. (Kelly) Norris III of Ashland; two daughters, Susie (Jacob) Norris Epstein of Los Angeles, Calif., and Frances Norris of Van Nuys, Calif.; five grandchildren, Clark (Abby) Norris, Jane Ann (Brent) Goodwin, Sam, Natalie and Thomas Epstein; two great-grandchildren, Anna and Kate Goodwin; and a host of extended family and friends.
There will be a private memorial service with Minister Joel Kelly officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to First Presbyterian Church, 1600 Winchester Ave, Ashland, KY 41101 or CARES (Community Assistance & Referral Service, Inc.), 2516 Carter Ave, Ashland, KY 41101.
The family has entrusted Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods with the arrangements.
