Janet Lee Bates Potter, 75, of Ashland, wife of Richard Potter, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Janet was born Sept. 21, 1941, in Westwood, to the late George Bates and Edna Gallion Todd.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Dean Todd; and two sisters, Linda Mae Sigler and Ellen Lowe.
She was a seamstress with Wilson's Sporting Goods in Ironton, Ohio and a former member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Russell.
Janet leaves behind her loving husband, Richard Potter; one son, Rick (Tina) Potter of Catlettsburg; two daughters, Tonneta (Rick) Roark of Ashland and Tammy Lynn Parmelee of Seattle, Wash.; nine grandchildren, Seth Roark, Tasha Dennis, Travis Roark, Allison Roark, Karen Grady, Josh Brown, Erick Brown, Kaelyn Potter and Cade Potter; six great-grandchildren, Kiley Roark, Chloe Roark, Roslyn Roark, Aaron Grady, Asher Roark and Arison Roark; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be noon today at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood. Entombment will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon today at the funeral home.
