Jeannie Sue Broughton, 71, of Ashland, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017, at her residence.
She was born July 16, 1946, in Ashland, the daughter of the late George and Mildred DeHart Hoffman.
She was a retired foundation director for the American Heart Association, Kentucky affiliate with 30 years service. She was also the director of research, cardiovascular and community services, VP of operations and regional division director.
She was a member of the Calvary Episcopal Church where she sang in the choir and was a former Senior Warden and also initiated the Blessing in a Backpack Program in the Ashland School System.
She was an avid UK Basketball fan, very involved with the PAG area theater and her hobbies included camping and house boating.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Broughton and grandson, Brian Pitts.
Survivors include two daughters, Cathy (Steve) Childers of Ashland and Maggie Caulk of Clarksville, IN; two sisters, Georgianna (Doug) Temple of Louisville, KY and Betsy (Rick) Kallop of Lexington, KY; two grandchildren, Beth Broughton of Ashland and Lexxy Caulk of Clarksville, IN; two great-grandchildren, Layla Broughton and Norah Clay.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Calvary Episcopal Church with Rev. David Bailey and Rev. T. J. Azar officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
